A gutter sewer is far, far, too polite a description to describe the current Nationalist Party, its Leadership and its main protagonists.
These are people with no standards and no scruples, not even the faintest crumb of humanity in their DNA. They are a desperate, disgraceful, despicable, dirty and disgusting Opposition that has surpassed all standards of basic human decency.
The PN has been in decline for years, heavily in debt, idiots in the Leadership, bankrupt not only financially but morally, philosophically broke because what the PN stood for 50 and 100 years ago has disintegrated and its one and only policy is to try and damage Malta, the Maltese and the Labour Party and Government.
Beyond that – nothing else.
For the last two years they have tried every possible maneuver to unashamedly milk the femicide of shameless blogger and journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, inventing all kinds of scenarios to try and link former PM Joseph Muscat and his staff to the murder, despite all the Police findings, international investigations and currently of all those alleged to have been involved.
All kinds of protests and charades have been played out and culminated in the farce when current Leader Adrian Delia was blatantly told to get lost and push off by Caruana Galizia’s family when he brazenly tried to lay a wreath at her manipulated memorial as a token of “tribute” to a woman who had alleged he was a criminal money-launderer and against whom he retaliated with all kinds of besmirching descriptions.
Fake and baseless organisations like Civil Society and Repubblika have been formed to foment street pollution by a handful of people aimed at besmirching Malta internationally.
As the PN’s situation became less credible by the minute, as their debt continued to escalate, as the polls showed their continued electoral decline by the minute and as their internal civil war continued to escalate, like the desperation of a man drowning in a gutter sewer, they have been clutching at straws and continuing to deteriorate their credibility.
If a leaf falls from a tree they call on the Minister for the Environment to “shoulder responsibility” (the latest useless catch-phrase) and resign; if a Gozo ferry delays its schedule by a few minutes the Minister for Gozo has to resign; if migrants revolt, the Minister for Internal Affairs has to resign and on and on and on it goes.
They have forgotten their own years and years of Government when people perished from construction building deaths (including in the building of Mater Dei), road traffic accidents, fireworks incidents, general negligence in public health and so many others that claimed the deaths of hundreds of lives.
Now, the PN has stooped to a new low following the tragic death of an innocent woman and housewife as a result of the collapse of her home due to construction work. Like a parasite clinging to a fresh victim they have unashamedly done their level best to exploit a tragic situation.
Delia rushed to the site accompanied by cronies to tut-tut; in Parliament he donned sackcloth and ashes but took the opportunity to plead for the financing of political parties by the Government (as the PN is bankrupt beyond control) and of course all laced with calls for “shouldering responsibility” and Ministerial resignations.
As I have already stated and will repeat, they are a desperate, disgraceful, despicable, dirty and disgusting Opposition that has surpassed all standards of basic human decency.
