The “new” PN way – if the PL is doing everything “our way” when in Government then everything must b

One of the very few mistakes of this Labour Government since 2013 is that right from the very start the PL Government should have engaged a leading psychologist and a leading psychiatrist to analyse the way the PN mind works and their general mindset.

Admittedly this would have probably led the psychologist and the psychiatrist to fall into deep bouts of depression and nihilism – but that, after all, is part of their profession.

I am not of course qualified to pronounce in these fields but I will relay my non-qualified layman’s opinions.

Their first analysis would have been into the mindset of David Casa whose mind seems to have gone off its ball-bearings long ago. He has relentlessly tried to damage the country that he is supposed to represent and defend!

His latest piece of nonsense? He is to ask the EC to “investigate” the contents of a French television programme in which a bullshitting representative of a legal firm blurted all sorts of illogical nonsense. If you are making money the last logical thing in the world to do would be to blurt all your “secret” contacts to a stranger you have never even seen before.

As if the EC has nothing better to do than waste its time on such frivolities!

Corruption had become so inured in 25 years of PN governance that this naturally motivates their mindset today to suspect that everything this Government does must be corrupt – because that had become a way of life – the way things were done, so that must be how they are “done” today.

New Leader Adrian Delia breezed in on a “new way” but gradually this has developed to be nothing more than the “old way”. Thus, he has spent almost 95% of his time alleging corruption, raising doubts, casting aspersions and tramping in and out of Courts.

Let us take power stations as an example. A heavy-oil power station’s construction was chosen out of “Yellow Pages”; toxic gases flowed out; oil commissions are still being investigated; the people were made to pay when energy prices shot up over the horizon.

Naturally, when all this was dramatically changed, the PN assumed the same chicanery had taken place and now somebody else is raking in the cash.

Lands and the environment are other spheres. People were left speechless by the scandals that emerged – and their connections. Over 25 years the total environment was ruined beyond recognition. Now, after the die has been cast, people rope themselves to trees and light candles and PN faces try to ride on the waves of protests.

The Opposition’s role has become not that of being constructive, monitoring Government and forwarding alternatives. No, the creed is, as we didn’t think about it and it is obviously successful, let’s try and destroy it.

So, the new roads are a “scandal”; the gas-fired power station is a “scandal”; employing business acumen for the economy is a “scandal”; the Citizenship with Investment Programme is a “scandal”.

Everything is a “scandal” because we did not have the balls or brains to do it.

Above all, the real concern is that the PN rank ‘n file seem to think in similar vein. When an EU Member country elects its representatives to the EU Parliament it is under the auspices that these will champion, support and defend their country.

NOT the PN rank ‘n file. They elected two persons (Casa and Metsola) who for the last six years have been doing their level best to DAMAGE their own country with all sorts of frivolous accusations, constantly urging the EU to “take action” against their own country, the country that elected them to defend it.

Can anything be sicker?
