Time to clear up the PN Aegean Stables Dottore Delia – are you going to be a Hercules or a Julius Ca

In Greek Mythology, King Augeas owned a number of stables which housed a large herd of cattle and had not been cleaned for years. Hercules was ordered to clean out these filthy stalls. He did so by diverting the course of two rivers so that they flowed through the stables and cleared away all the filth and scum.

Dottore Adrian Delia must be the luckiest politician in the whole wide world.

Why – because he has no enemies.

On the contrary, he is surrounded by great friends and admirers, people like Simon Busuttil, David Casa, Jason Azzopardi, Manwel Delia, David Thake, Andrew Borg Cardona, Roberta Metsola, and a host of others – over which the ghost of Daphne Caruana Galizia hovers.

It all started with DCG. When it was mooted that Delia would be challenging Busuttil for the leadership, an enormous chill must have gone through her spine.

Here she was, the Queen of the PN Castle, Queen of the Aegean Stables, lording it over a sycophant lackey Busuttil who drooled over her every word, woke up every morning and while buttering his breakfast toast and imbibing his cup of coffee read every word she had written in her Running Commentary the day before and then called the media to parrot-like blurt out all “facts” – totally regardless of whether they were true or not.

How dare this upstart of a nonentity like Delia now threaten to upset the whole applecart with his talk of “new ways” and time “to bring changes”!

Thus the process began to lay out a bed of thorns and sharpen the knives to let Dottore Delia know what’s what and let him know he should never, ever have thought of trying to change matters as God willed them to be.

So, with friends and admirers like these – who needs enemies anyway?

Well Dottore Delia, you have now reached the crossroads of destiny. What comes next?

You have two choices. Are you going to be a Hercules ... or a Julius Caesar facing your equivalent of the Ides of March?

If you choose to be Hercules, you will clear out the PN stables from all the rubbish that has smouldered there for years – people who think they are there because Almighty God put them there, and only HE can remove them from there.

If you shrink away from this, you will today, tomorrow or the day after become a Julius Caesar in the Ides of March and the knives will be sharpened even more and as you walk, a flurry of back-stabbing will put you down and out.

Only you can choose really.
