ADRIAN “DEL-BOY” DELIA – a mixed-up brain surrounded by a clique of idiots – a throw-back to the din

Boy and man, I have been following politics for 60 years, both Malta’s politics, as well as international politics, philosophies and politicians.

Hand on heart, sincerely and truthfully, I have never, ever come across a political brain that is as mixed-up and confused as that of Adrian “Del-Boy” Delia.

He originally launched his career by stating he is not a politician and one assumed he was merely being modest and prudent. Little did one realise that he was in fact being perfectly honest and factual.

Today I confirm, he is NOT a politician, and even further, he knows absolutely NOTHING about politics.

However, aware of his shortcomings, one would assume he would have surrounded himself with good, sensible, sound political brains. Unfortunately though, he has surrounded himself with a clique of idiots, some of whom had been discarded by the previous PN Leadership as being largely “no-brainers” and others who anticipated his weaknesses and jumped on the bandwagon as opportunists.

With accusations of alleged money-laundering and gainful return from an alleged London brothel racket hanging over him, denied but never legally contested, his first months were spent in hysterical outbursts of allegations of corruption against the Government, with concentration on Panama Papers and continually on 17 Black.

This back-fired drastically when last week it was revealed that two of his closest allies in the PN had actually approached 17 Black for a sponsorship, ridiculously stated as being that of requesting a small room at the Hilton Hotel for a conference.

His weekly tirades conveyed the impression the country had become a capitalist dictatorship being run strictly to satisfy commercial interests in which the country’s rank-and-file were being impoverished, having to sleep on pavements, queuing up at food banks, not managing to make ends meet and extending as far as stating the Prime Minister wanted pensioners to die to ease the Government’s financial burdens.

To give this a populist trend he gradually began to increase stronger and stronger doses of xenophobic outbursts with allegations the country had been taken over by foreigners who were raking in all the euros while the Maltese population was at starving point.

Since 17 Black erupted in his face. His allegations dramatically changed. He has gone back to the dinosaur era of politics. Now, he is no longer delivering outbursts against “the Labour Government” – now the hysteria is against “the Socialist Government”.

Thus, overnight, a Government that he alleged was a capitalist free-for-all has suddenly become Socialist! Unbelievable!

Why this change in tack? Sixty, seventy and eighty years ago the mere mention of “Socialist” and “Socialists” sent shivers up the spines of businessmen and people alike, creating spectres of deprivation, regimentation, a total obstacle to every aspect of commercial enterprise and total State control of everything.

So, a Government that was previously allowing commercial profit and enterprise to motivate anything and everything, this has now resorted to total State control on every form of enterprise.

To back up this new tirade, he went a step further and linked the Government as “wanting to suppress” the country’s Catholicism by destroying the Church, eroding religious values etc. Sixty and more years ago, the two were linked together – Socialism and suppression of religious worship and values.

What follows next Delia? Will we soon be seeing placards of Joseph Muscat kicking crucifixes and setting fire to churches (as they did to Dom Mintoff sixty years ago)? Will he be saying the Government is harassing priests and nuns? Will it follow that good Catholics are being discriminated against?

Is this Delia’s “new way” i.e. instead of moving forward, the mind-set relapses to the drivel of sixty years ago?

Who is/are the idiots giving Delia such advice and how mixed-up is his brain to accept it? In 2019, people like Delia and those that support him are a dangerous health hazard.
