At last, the country is on the verge of being saved from Eternal Damnation as Adrian ‘Robin Hood’ Delia and his Band of Merry Men and Women gear up to form a “Shield” to safeguard all our needs against an evil Government.
The Band is also growing day-by-day and I seem to be getting indications they are about to be joined by another member, although I cannot see how they will fit him in.
After all, the Delia Band already has its fill. For Friar Tuck they have Father Joe Borg the Godly monk, for Little John they have Clyde Puli, for Will Scarlett they have David Agius and of course Kristy Debono has had to take the place of Maid Marion as the official Maid Marion has packed her bags and opted out.
So where is possibly new entrant Arnold Cassola to fit in with this Band? Now here is a man who has been a political failure from A to Z – or should that be from A to D (i.e. Alternattiva Demokratika)?
For approximately 15 years he was AD Chairperson, started off at Zero Level and 15 years later ended up at Zero Level, and I seem to detect that his resignation from AD has filled them with a sense of relief.
As an excuse he cobbled up some nonsense about abortion with current Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo saying the issue of abortion has not even ever been discussed by the Party. Cassola based his assertion on the personal opinion of an AD MEP candidate – which is hardly the view of the whole Party.
Now, he has expressed his “disgust” because of a video showing the PM and his wife whooping it up at a party, even though God knows when this party took place.
However, Kristy ‘Maid Marion’ Debono even bettered this yesterday when she told a handful of people that the PN has “always been” and “will remain” a shield for the people. How noble and how full of kind integrity!
Sadly, the “shield” effect did not work when for 25 whole years the PN failed to increase the basic wage and pensions even once and when PM Gonzi exploded energy bills and appeared whooping it up at being happy about doing it and if necessary would even increase them further. His “shield” for those worried about this was to get up at night to use their washing machines and dishwashers as energy bills at night were cheaper.
The “shield” also failed to function when the PN Government stole double VAT on new vehicles and refused to refund the theft even though the EU instructed them to do so. It also failed to function in providing adequate medicine supplies for the sick because as Simon Busuttil pointed out, even the local grocer runs out of tins of peas!
However, these are just the mere tip of the ice berg. A day earlier, David Agius said the PN will not allow the Government to “ride roughshod” over the people. This “roughshod riding” includes free childcare, increased pensions, homes and donations for the sick and disabled, LGBTQI rights, social housing, road repairs and new roads, energy bill cuts, waste recycling, hospital medicines in stock, virtually full employment, record tourism both incoming and outgoing, an economic surplus ... and God knows what else.
Yet and yet, the accolade, the prize biscuit, must go to Adrian “Robin Hood” Delia when he said that Malta-based banks are blaming the Government for “a bad international reputation” when his cronies David Casa, Roberta Metsola, Francis Zammit Dimech, the late Daphne Caruana Galizia, Simon Busuttil and other lackeys and boot-lickers have been CONTINUALLY doing their utmost to damage Malta and its citizens on a world-wide basis.
These are the elements that make-up Kristy Debono’s “shield”.
How dishonest and insulting can certain people be when they make such statements and actually believe that people will accept them as truths?
It is an INSULT to basic human intelligence.
