“THE TIMES of MALTA” EXPOSES JOSEPH MUSCAT - “the difficult moments this country has found itself in

In its Editorial yesterday, Friday, 14th December titled “Requiem to freedom of expression”, the so-called “independent” newspaper “The Times of Malta” took a swipe at PN Leader Adrian Delia and prompted him to put his own house in order before making accusations, including accusations against “The Times” itself.

Why they did this is anybody’s guess but possibly to catalyse a speedy end to Delia and a hopeful return of somebody like Simon Busuttil, a “no-brainer” (in the same class as that described by Daphne Caruana Galizia when she referred to Clyde Puli and David Agius), easily controlled and manipulated.

Naturally, the attempt had to be covered by the usual continual swipes at Joseph Muscat and the Labour Government – otherwise readers may get the wrong impression that the newspaper is softening up in some way!

And so, they continued thus – “But the PN has a crucial role to play in the prevailing circumstances and the difficult moments this country has found itself in, mainly because of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s own doing.”

Naturally, they are right (“The Times” is always right!), through his “own doing”, Joseph Muscat has put this country in “difficult moments”. Even the picture of him above shows all the “errors” of his “wrong doing” – the guilt is all over his body language!

Where does one start?

For example, it was highly insensitive of him to immediately decrease energy consumption rates because he spoilt the fun and entertainment of his predecessor Lawrence Gonzi who had achieved great delight and satisfaction in zooming them up and plunging the country in despair.

How dare he? A number of people were making a lot of money on heavy oil commissions and Muscat spoilt this too. He also spoilt the “fun” of intense atmospheric pollution and increasing cancer risks to the whole of the country. In fact, he was a real spoilsport!

However, that was just the tip of the iceberg. More “own doing” spoiling unashamedly followed. The switch to gas spoilt the whole of the economy and particularly harmed the employment sector.

Previously it was great fun trying to find a job of sorts when there were none. This was enjoyed by thousands who remained unemployed and the rest of the country had great fun in seeing their taxes being paid in unemployment benefits instead of these being used to help health and education!

Equally worse, he put employers and businesses in trouble because in the resultant boom they are not finding people to employ and to try and stimulate this they have had to up their wages and salaries.

By his “own doing” of spoiling all this fun, more people are paying NI and taxes, the Government is obtaining more revenue and thus the calamity of an annual financial surplus for the Government whereas it was previously such great fun to see the National Debt increasing and the Government always at a deficit and not have to worry about it because “future generations will pay”.

There is even more!

What’s the big idea of improving social conditions and giving the people a higher standard of living coupled with opportunities and a better quality of life? What was Joseph Muscat thinking of when he raised the minimum wage for the first time in 25 years? When he raised pensions for the first time in 25 years?

How dare he do such things? Why help the poor and the disabled? “Are there no work houses; are there no prisons?” (Ebenezer Scrooge – A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens).

And on and on it goes. We have become a country of “difficult moments” thanks to Joseph Muscat. Our economy is rated as the best performing in Europe. We have the lowest unemployment rate in Europe. We are world leaders in Blockchain. We have one of the top six best health systems in the world and “everywhere one looks there are records”, records in tourism, records in airport passenger turnover, records in retail sales, records in hotel occupancy and restaurant turnover, records of visits to Gozo and on and on ad nauseum.

And yet, there is so much, much more. How dare Joseph Muscat NOT be the owner of Egrant when Daphne Caruana Galizia, Simon Busuttil, David Casa and Maria Efimova said he was?

Why has he taken all the fun out of General Elections with two landslide victories and is currently estimated to enjoy a lead of roughly 100,000 votes?

Dear Dr Joseph Muscat, you have a lot to answer for in your “wrong doings” and the country will never forgive or forget all “the difficult moments” you have placed us in.
