ANOTHER CURRENT DEVELOPMENT – DENYING THE TRUTH – as Europe continues to swing to the Right

In my youth, politics were simple enough, you were either Extreme Left (Communist/Marxist), Left (Socialist/Labour), Liberal (neither Left nor Right but in the Middle), Right (Conservative) or Extreme Right (Fascist/Nazi).
Over the years these became confused with the introduction of new terms such as Democratic, Social Democrats, Popular and more – to a state in which nowadays it is difficult to determine which is which and who is where.
In 1971, Dom Mintoff was returned to Government as Prime Minister with the thinnest of majorities. By the General Election of 1976 he had widened his victory margin considerably. Diehard Labourites began saying Mintoff now had a “cens perpetwu” (total emphyteusis) in Government and could remain in Government for as long as he wished.
Mintoff and the Labour Government won an electoral victory in the 1981 General Election but did not gain the majority of the popular vote. Mintoff later resigned and the Labour Party crashed to defeat in the 1987 General Election and went into a virtual 25-year period of confusion. So much for total emphyteusis!
Sweden held their General Election over the last weekend. Now, if there was ever a country in the world, particularly in Europe that was known as being “liberal” in its political views and general outlook – that country was Sweden. By the 1960s they had shocked the world by liberalising pornography and authorising the opening of “sex shops”. The Nordic country was classed as being laid-back, relaxed and forward looking.
What was the outcome of the Election? The ruling Social Democrats experienced a decline in votes and loss of Parliamentary seats said to be the greatest loss in their history while a party known as “Sweden Democrats” leapt to gain almost 18% of the votes. And who and what are “Sweden Democrats”? They are a Far Right party with Nazi/Fascist foundations based on white supremacy. And what was their electoral platform? They campaigned heavily for a total stop in continued immigration and Sweden’s invasion by “foreigners”.
Hardly believable – the Swedes, of all people, Nazi and Fascist, resenting foreigners, wanting to stop further foreigners, wanting to expel foreigners already there – hardly believable!
Europe should, must, take note. The Far Right in Europe has been increasing by leaps and bounds – in France, in Germany and in Italy in particular, but also in Eastern Europe and in most European countries – and it is threatening to smash the European Union.
What has caused this development and this widespread resentment? One need not look far. Europe’s so-called “liberal” factions – including a plethora of nothing-better-to-do NGOs have been preaching, pressing and practising “open doors” to keep them in never-ending commercial business – totally disregarding widespread national resentment at this continual invasion of immigrants but also that of other fellow Europeans muscling in and escalating criminality and lawlessness. The spread of Islam has been a further factor.
And what also happened in Malta over the weekend? Well, I don’t often sympathise or empathise with what Adrian Delia says but on Sunday he elaborated much on the resentment being felt and expressed by a vast majority of Maltese people against continued immigration and against increasing flows of foreigners, the effect they are having on the country and the effect they are having on the national character.
For expressing these views he has now been savagely attacked – and by whom? No less than 21 NGOs have issued wholesale condemnations of what he said, classing him to be “racist” and accusing him of spreading “hate” and “inciting” violence.
My Blog yesterday outlined my views on the current trend of finding and creating excuses to cover criminality and wrong-doing by coming up with all sorts of reasons to justify it.
This is yet another trend – that of denying the truth and attacking anybody expressing the truth with all sorts of insulting adjectives, mainly that of being racist and tools of incitement.
Nowadays, it is no longer safe to express the truth as far as immigration and foreign invasions are concerned. Nowadays it has become the rule to lie, to give the impression that everybody is content and happy and that everybody is being welcomed with open arms. In fact the more coming the merrier.
This is fast reaching a dangerous explosion point.
