“THE TOWER OF BABEL” EGRANT CASE COLLAPSES WITH A CRASH – what is/was Maria Efimova’s part in all th

It is written in the Old Testament that the Jews became ambitious and cocky. Yahweh (God) was in the heavens, so why not reach him and be equal? They began to construct an enormous tower into the sky, higher and higher to be closer to Yahweh and Heaven.

Yahweh saw all this and was not pleased. What cheek – what impudence! So he acted, and made them all speak different languages so that nobody could understand anybody else and the whole tower came crashing down.

And Yahweh was pleased.

Step forward the Egrant case which has come crashing down with as much a bang as the ill-fated Tower of Babel.

The parts played by the late Caruana Galizia, Simon Busuttil, David Casa, Pierre Portelli et al are understandable in that they have a political base in the guise of “outing” a shocking criminal event – that the PM and his wife should have a company in Panama to stash away ill-gotten gains. To base a ploy on this – satanic as it is – I can understand because political ambition and the lure of power can distort many minds to irrationality.

HOWEVER, what of the role of the Russian woman Maria Efimova? Did she have political ambitions? Hardly likely being Russian and so, obviously not in Malta. Perhaps she dreams of ousting Vladimir Putin?

Does she believe in Justice and the Rule of Law, spending sleepless nights tossing about in her bed fretting because the PM and his wife were taking the country for a ride in raking-in ill-gotten gains? Did her heart go out to the people of Malta and Gozo because she felt “they were being robbed”?

She just felt she had to “blow the whistle” on all this?

Again, hardly likely as she has pending cases of criminal fraud and misappropriation of a bank’s money and people who go on to commit criminal fraud are hardly likely to allow their conscience to give them sleepless nights – except to plot ways and means of making an easy buck and fooling others.

So, what is/was her part in all this?

Who approached whom?

Let us paint a scenario. Efimova has been questioned by Police on criminal fraud and Court charges are to be made against her. Her position is highly vulnerable, a foreigner in an alien land waiting to be taken to Court and perhaps a prison sentence.

Was she targeted as “a vulnerable person”? Did somebody approach somebody else and make this known? Was it also made known that at Pilatus she had an access to certain files and safes containing documents?

So, was the deal “you do and say this and that and in return we will pay you this and that and then you can flee the country and escape criminal proceedings”?

So, she did say this and that and a whole volume was built on it with documents, signatures and all other necessities.

In the meanwhile she fled and disappeared for many weeks but eventually surfaced in Greece where she sought asylum and refuge and claimed her life “was in danger” if she were to be expatriated to Malta to face Justice. Later she said she had not scanned or given any documents to anybody. Much later she said that former Police Inspector Ferris “is a liar and has told lots of lies” and Ferris retaliated and said “no – Efimova is a liar and tells lots of lies”.

Meanwhile, Euro MEP David Casa mounts a crusading pilgrimage to Athens to do his utmost to ensure that Efimova will not return to Malta, going into great detail about how her life would be endangered.

Why are Casa and some others so anxious to ensure that Efimova is kept away? Maybe she has a big mouth? Maybe she will spill beans to save her skin? Maybe she will detail and afford explanations of how all the plan was plotted and who did what?

So – what was/is Efimova’s role in this “Tower of Babel”?

More importantly, as she is involved in such a satanic frame-up to ruin a Prime Minister and his family and a country’s economy, will Greek Justice continue insisting the full truth NOT be known?

The people of Malta expect and wait.
