TIME TO FAST PUT FEET ON THE GROUND - irresponsible political exploitation of DCG death causing enor
The shameful political exploitation of the death of Daphne Caruana Galizia has stooped to abysmal depths that are becoming a major obstruction to the Course of Justice – and unfortunately, her own family is contributing to it too, in fact contributing to a major extent. I can understand and sympathise with their natural sorrow but I cannot reconcile their distorted reasoning in brazen-faced pointing of fingers, issues that are far, far from reality.
This disgraceful exploitation is evading the very real facts and the time has come to put feet firmly on the ground and cut out all the dramatic hysteria that has turned the whole event into a shameful soap opera.
FACT NO 1: very obviously besides the severe loss and shock experienced by her family, her relatives and her many friends, the greatest loser has been the Labour Party itself. Her Blog was classed to have been the greatest contributor to Labour’s landslide victory in 2013 and an even greater and more colossal victory in 2017.
If Labour had any interest in the matter, that interest was to enable her to continue damaging her own cause and that of the Nationalist Party by continuing to make it even less popular than it already is.
FACT NO 2: Logic therefore highlights the greatest benefactors to be the Nationalist Party itself and some of its adherents in various shapes and forms. Take the current Leader Adrian Delia, charged by Caruana Galizia to have had dealings with the late and notorious Big Frank, the King of Soho in London during his time. DCG alleged that Delia was making substantial money from a block of flats in London used for prostitution purposes. DCG also alleged money-laundering and drugs.
Delia had filed five or six libel charges over the allegations but promptly withdrew them on her death when logic would have (a) either induced him to carry on to prove his innocence or (b) withdraw them and demand a Magisterial Inquiry to probe them to establish the truth. However, he defied all logic and said he had almost fainted when he heard of her death – something which logic says is a load of bullshit.
FACT NO 3: DCG launched every sinew to block Delia becoming PN Leader and for Simon Busuttil to remain Leader, a man with obviously very limited brain cells and one very easily controlled like a puppet-on-a-string. This certainly did not hold with the PN rank-and-file and they proved it by firmly booting out Busuttil as an alternative to the very negative facts that with DCG continuing to pump bile together with Busuttil’s total incompetence, the PN was doomed to virtually ever-lasting failure …that is unless these two obstacles were removed.
Now it is no secret that the PN had a number of substantial financial backers who had lost out in the scratch-my-back-and-I-will-scratch-yours process, a back-scratching never to be resumed if further electoral losses were to follow. The only remedy was the obvious one …
FACT NO 4: therefore, it takes no genius to work out who politically are the greatest benefactors by this tragic event and NO MATTER how hard bullshit organisations like Civil Society, the Roadsweepers and all that nonsense strive they CANNOT evade the real facts stated above.
All of which lead to other facts of obvious logic that are stupidly being manipulated to mislead and sidetrack.
The first hue and outcry was that the Police Commissioner had “failed” to give DCG the adequate protection – whatever that is. The fact is that DCG herself did not want Police at her door “to protect her sources” which presumably means those who made a path to her door as if they were approaching some sort of shrine, to spill beans. For God’s sake, this is the 21st Century. Today we have landlines, mobiles, internet, emails and what have you and if one did not want anything actually to be recorded, surely the last resort would have been to turn up at her house and the obviously logical answer would have been to convene a “casual” meeting perhaps on the Gozo Ferry or in the wilds of Ghajn Tuffieha and then spill the beans.
If her family and she lived under “constant threat” why (1) was the house not adequately alarmed with security cameras inside and out; (2) why was the gate left open (3) whatever happened to the guard dogs they are reputed to have had; (4) why was her vehicle parked outside? All these certainly belie the fact of any perceived threat.
Yet, the most outstanding piece of lack of logic is WHY the family is going to great lengths to prevent her laptop falling into Police hands, in turn clearly obstructing the Course of Justice? Are they hiding something? Six months have passed since her death. Has the laptop meanwhile been “doctored”?
And now, with the launching of Project Daphne, WHY are attempts being made to regurgitate allegations that have been vomited previously ad nauseum and mainly discredited as witnessed by last year’s electoral result?
It takes no Sherlock Holmes to work out this logic, just plain commonsense. However, when there are hidden agendas, logic is put aside and whereas FACTS CONVINCE, OPINIONS ONLY SERVE TO CONFUSE.
