TIME TO STOP THIS DISGRACEFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL FARCE – once and for all
Frankly I am utterly disappointed by the Government’s and the competent authorities’ failure to stop once and for all the disgraceful and disrespectful farce around our main National Monument to the Great Siege, in Valletta.
For months now idiots have been piling on rubbish and pictures; others have been taking them off; others dirty the place once again and put them on ... and on and on it goes.
In the most recent saga PN MP Karol Aquilina called on Police to “apprehend” and “arraign” the persons who “stole” candles and other rubbish from around the monument.
It has been bandied about that “the thieves” are “close to the OPM”, a direct implication that the “theft” was politically engineered! Yes, I can see the Government Cabinet meeting clandestinely at the dead of night at Castile to “plot” and “encourage” this “theft”.
What a banal farce, the concept of a total no-brainer and fits in well with the nonsense that Aquilina normally spouts.
Sadly the farce is never-ending and was compounded during last week with an audacious, blasphemous and heretical statement by PN MP Edwin Vassallo when he compared Daphne Caruana Galizia to Our Lady of Sorrows and termed her “Malta’s Our Lady of Sorrows” in no less a place than our Parliament. This was a blasphemous statement that will continue to reverberate for many years to come
In short, the suffering of Our Lady was put on a par with some of the frightfully vicious and harmful scribbling of DCG!
Contrastingly enough I am not aware of any condemnation statement put out by Malta’s Archbishop at this piece of audacious and heretical blasphemy, nor of any statement from the Curia. Neither have I heard of any apology by Vassallo. Perhaps after making the statement he slunk away and went to Confession to beg for forgiveness...

Imagine had Toni Zarb or Jason Micallef made a similar comparison. Scicluna would be frothing at the mouth and pilgrimages would have been organised to Ta’ Pinu and ir-Redentur! But no – as this was Vassallo from the PN, all is hunky dory.
Instead we have idiots strutting around with brooms (as far as I am aware a broom is very symbolic of witches – perhaps the Witch of somewhere or other?) and others waving bananas Andrew Borg Cardona style.

The whole farce is disgracefully disrespectful over the tragic death of DCG and very sadly a farce aided and abetted by her self-same family. A tragedy has been turned into lashings of political opportunism by a desperate Opposition that equally blasphemously poses to militate in the realms of sainthood! It is almost as if her death came as a great relief and opportunity to give them something to bawl and grind about.
As for Alexiei Dingli, the Mayor of the Valletta Local Council who said he does not have the “power” to do anything about this disgraceful charade, he has shown he is not fit to be the Mayor of a rubbish dump, let alone our beautiful capital city Valletta.
Surely, the time has now come to end this totally disrespectful farce. Above all, this is a disgustingly disgraceful pollution of our main National Monument which has been dirtied and sullied beyond comparison and beyond belief.
