DID I REALLY HEAR THIS?

Sometimes there are surrealist, virtually unreal moments, when one begins to wonder if one is dreaming or whether one is experiencing the reality of life.
Flipping over tv channels earlier this week I came across Brian Hansford’s interesting programme ‘Realta’. He was interviewing PN stalwarts Dr Frank Psaila and Jean Pierre Debono (a former MP because he very foolishly gave up his seat to make way for Adrian Delia – a decision he will regret for the rest of his life) and who has now been given the totally meaningless role of CHIEF POLITICAL COORDINATOR.
In astonishment I heard them both say that our energy bills have “not really” been reduced and that this is “just a scam” to fool people.
I had to pinch myself hard to make sure these words were really said and not just my imagination.
Our bills “not really reduced”? Mine have more or less been halved and the reduction came just in time as I was drowning under a backlog of unpaid energy bills to ARMS Limited.
What really amazes me is how such people can sit in front of a television camera and say such things when they know they are talking rubbish and when they know the people watching and hearing know they are talking rubbish – and they still have the guts to do it! SIMPLY AMAZING.
This is very similar to Simon Busuttil a while ago saying in Parliament that the seven flyover project at the Marsa traffic congestion zone (Malta’s busiest) is simply a scam to favour ONE’s radio and television station there.
These people have a bizarre and perverted mentality that is firmly entrenched in fantasyland.
What is more alarming is they expect people to believe them and – even more alarming – there are some that actually do!
I wish you all a good day and urge you to keep smiling.
