TOO MANY COOKS SPOILING THE PN BRODU!

Who is ACTUALLY leading the Nationalist Party?

Is it Daphne Caruana Galizia from the grave? Incidentally, this is how respected journalist Matthew Engel writing in “The New Statesman” (a very respected British centre-left journal) described her in an article on 27th February, 2018:

“She was also often cruel, crass, vindictive and – until the election of the current Nationalist opposition leader, Adrian Delia, whom she hated – party-partisan.”

Considering all in all, these were somewhat kind and flattering comments.

Is it Simon Busuttil from behind the scenes as he works to undermine Adrian Delia to enable him once more to grab the leadership? Suddenly he has become an expert in “good governance” and is issuing daily statements to show us the road to “honesty”, naturally getting lots of publicity in “The Times of Malta”!

Is it Eddie Fenech Adami trying to promote his sons Beppe’ and Michael? With Beppe’ he is definitely wasting his time, a first degree blockhead. However, the PN does believe in the inheritance of dynasties to keep power in-house and not allow an ordinary commoner like Adrian Delia to grab the reins of power.

Is it Beppe’ Fenech Adami himself? However, after his disgraceful behavior at the recent PAC meeting he needs to take a course on the meaning of dignified behavior. His general demeanor is that he is a pain in the …neck, arrogant, a big-headed know all and contemptuous of all those around him.

Is it Manwel Delia who thinks he has “assumed” the mantle of DCG but is a complete non-starter?

Is it Jason Azzopardi who just loves to pop up and be seen when wise counsel would advise him to keep as low a profile as possible?

Is it David Casa whose treacherous behavior is inducing him to believe he is riding high in the popularity stakes?

Last and perhaps least and certainly least effective, is it Adrian Delia who is being totally ignored by most except for a handful of lackeys but tries to create the impression that he is The Supremo with a load of shouting and hysterical theatrics as well as making compromises and u-turns to try and win the support of all the mavericks around him?

These are some of the cooks (note, COOKS NOT CROOKS) messing about in the “PN brodu” cafetaria kitchen – and as we know, when in Maltese we say “brodu”, we definitely mean real “brodu!” … perhaps “brodu tat-tigieg” (chicken broth) would be more appropriate…

The downside of it all is that this is the country’s Opposition, a complete non-starting Trojan horse and it is not good for this country’s democracy status.

Are we about to witness another ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ in the offing?

Let’s wait and see.

I wish you all a good day and urge you to keep smiling.

ALBERT FENECH
